The overall exhibition area of this year’s China Sport Show exceeded 200,000 square meters, with over 2,000 participating companies, both record highs. The exhibition comprised three core sections: the APFIT Asia-Pacific Fitness Exhibition, the Sports Venues and Equipment Exhibition Area, and the Sports Consumption and Services Exhibition Area. It covered multiple sub-sectors including professional fitness and bodybuilding, sports rehabilitation and welfare, professional sports flooring, fitness equipment for all, table tennis, badminton, tennis, sports footwear and apparel, and outdoor sports, achieving full coverage of the entire sports industry chain.

During the exhibition, over 50 industry forums, competitions, business matchmaking events, and immersive experience activities were held. Over the four days, the exhibition attracted more than 170,000 professional visitors and sports enthusiasts. Overseas visitors from 117 countries and regions pre-registered, with the highest proportion coming from countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, followed by Europe, South America, and Oceania. Statistics show that this year’s sports expo attracted a total of 12,100 overseas visitors, with overseas VIP buyers expressing intended purchases exceeding US$60 million.

Trend 1: Deep AI Empowerment – “Intelligentization” Moving from Concept to Reality

The APFIT Asia-Pacific Fitness Exhibition is the largest core exhibition area at this year’s China Sport Show, with nearly 130,000 square meters of exhibition space bringing together approximately 1,100 companies. Intelligent fitness equipment equipped with artificial intelligence technology is ubiquitous – from outdoor intelligent body composition analyzers to intelligent chest press rowing machines, from AI intelligent skiing systems to intelligent magnetic resistance upper limb trainers. Intelligentization is no longer just an added bonus, but a core theme running through product design.

A deeper change lies in the shift of intelligent fitness from “hardware networking” to “precise service.” Intelligent devices equipped with AI algorithms can generate posture analysis reports for users and automatically adjust training weights, truly achieving personalized scientific fitness services – rather than simply data monitoring. Judging from the enthusiasm of overseas visitors, the global appeal of China’s sports manufacturing industry is rapidly increasing. This year’s China Sport Show saw a remarkable 303.33% year-on-year increase in overseas visitors, with buyers and industry professionals from 117 countries and regions gathering in Xiamen. Regarding purchasing intentions, over 66.23% of overseas buyers attended primarily for procurement, and over 57.14% explicitly hoped to find new suppliers. This indicates that overseas buyers have shifted from a “wait-and-see” phase to a “substantive procurement” phase, and the competitiveness and trustworthiness of Chinese sports products in the global market are continuously rising.

Trend 3: Expert Perspective – Generation Z and Hyrox Ignite a New Fitness Wave

At an industry sharing dinner held concurrently with the exhibition, the Vice President of Johnson (from a well-known international fitness brand) shared profound insights into the changing fitness behaviors of Generation Z. He pointed out that more and more young people are shifting from traditional “check-in style fitness” to participating in fitness competitions—new types of physical fitness competitions, represented by the globally popular Hyrox, are becoming a new vehicle for social interaction and self-actualization for Generation Z.

Johnson, Vice President, further proposed that the future of the industry will belong to three keywords: Smart Fitness, Wellness Ecosystems, and User-Focused Innovation. This means that future fitness products will no longer be isolated strength training equipment or cardio devices, but should integrate data, community, competition, and lifestyle to form a complete closed loop of health services.

For fitness industry manufacturers, this trend sends a clear signal: the fitness industry is still in a strong upward cycle. Traditional hardware manufacturing alone is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of the new generation of consumers.
